When summer rolled around
and most students get time off,
it becomes time to think,
“What do I do with the time?”
So I go ask my friends for plans.
My friends are nice, and we meet
for game day once in a while, but
we’ve been meaning to do anything
fun when we had the free time.
So I take initiative and send a message.
On the first week, I ask my friends
If they want to go somewhere in the city
Half of them don’t know, half can’t pay.
We can’t really do much for free now,
so I stayed home gaming on my own.
On the second week, I asked my friends
if they want to play any new games.
Half aren’t interested, half aren’t willing
to pay for something and forget about it,
so I stay home gaming on my own again.
On the third week, I ask my friends
If they want to play things already gotten,
like a free game. Half are busy with work,
half are not motivated enough to join me.
Truly troubling chain of events here.
We still chat online, get on a call
here and there, but for the most part
The only play was being on my own.
Thinking maybe the stars will align,
I entertain myself and bide my time
.

.
The wifi keeps cutting out on me.
Michael Ladzinski loves doing stuff like video games, crafts, Dungeon & Dragons, taking a nice hike on a beach or park trail, and writing. Michael doesn’t have a presence online, but if he had a platform, he would say something like, “Do your best, your work might become someone else’s Roman Empire.”
