By Sebastian Ortiz (Vitale)
There are many things I don’t know about myself
that could hurt you.
There are many things I don’t know about myself
that could love you.
There are many things inside me
that I have yet to discover,
many flaws and gifts
that I still don’t see.
And in the midst of that blindness,
I hope you have enough patience
to endure the fallen days
without leaving.
I hope you can love me deeply enough
to bear my darker side,
the one that sometimes wounds you.
Building walls instead of bridges,
I am afraid your light will fade in the shadows
of the same fortress I have been trapped in.
That part… that is also me.
In return, I promise you a gentle landscape
within the complex painting of my being.
You deserve all the art that lives in me,
for you are my favorite person
in the universe that dwells within.
